TAKING CARE OF YOUR NEW BROWS

CONGRATULATIONS ON INVESTING IN YOURSELF!

PLEASE READ BELOW ON HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THEM LONG TERM.

For the first 2 weeks: Keep your new brows away from the sun (wear a hat), avoid sweating and applying makeup near them. No pools, jacuzzi’s, working out for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, you can start washing your face normally and start applying sunscreen on them SPF 30+ to prevent UV rays from fading them. If you get facials, laser treatments, chemical peels or microdermabrasion do not do this for a month and always inform your technician to keep away from your brows. These treatments can lighten or darken the pigment. This is also with any acid based creams, serums and toners.

30 minutes after your appointment you should gently clean your brows.

DRY SKIN: Clean your new brows by dampening a paper towel or cotton pad with warm water (make sure you do not use a large amount of water). Gently dab over your brows 2-3 times a day (every 4-6 hours) for the first 3 days then gently dab it dry. Next, apply a very thin layer of ointment provided on your brows for the first three days 2 times a day. The amount should be light enough to where your brows look dry. After 3 days, stop the cleaning and do not apply ointment any longer. If you feel like you’re oily then dab the oil out gently. The goal here is to keep them clean and dry so the strokes stay crisp and retained in the skin.

OILY SKIN: Clean your new brows by dampening a paper towel or cotton pad with warm water (make sure you do not use a large amount of water). Gently dab over your brows 3-4 times a day (every 3-4 hours) for the first 3 days then gently dab it dry.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER MICROBLADING OR EYEBROW SHADING PROCEDURES

Your new brows are approximately 30%-40% darker and bolder in the width than they will be when healed. Exfoliation, which begins in a few days, will cause the excess pigment to flake away and will soften and lighten the pigment. Don’t pick or scratch them as this will cause pigment loss. Be patient, even if you think too much color has been lost, once the flakes have fallen off, a shiny layer of healing skin will completely cover the hair strokes. It may appear as though the tattooed area has completely disappeared. Within 1-2 weeks, the pigment will slowly reappear at a lighter shade as your skin regenerates. Wait at least 8 weeks to see the true color.

DO NOT

DO NOT get water, soap or lotion on your brows other than applying ointment. When bathing or showering avoid large amounts of water. Dry shampoo is your best friend ;) If you need to wash your hair taking a bath is best.

DO NOT pick or scratch if your brows start to flake. Your skin is regenerating and you may remove the pigment if you do.

NO exercising/sweating or pools and jacuzzi’s for 2 weeks.

DO NOT use petroleum based products such as Vaseline or Neosporin.

DO NOT bleach, dye or tint your brows for one month.

DO NOT apply anti-acne products or skin bleaching creams while healing.

NO products containing Glycolic Acid, Retin-A, Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid and Alpha Hydroxys (AHAs) should be applied to your brows.

DO NOT use hair removal products, if you have to tweeze only do so around your microblading and make sure tweezers are clean and sterile.
